DR. ARTIE SHELTON

President and CEO - Shelton’s Professional Services

He received the Upjohn Research and Scholarship Award from Howard University College of Medicine in 1974. He did his internship and residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He received fellowship training in Adult/Pediatric Allergy and Immunology at National Institute of Health, Children’s Hospital and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He has held teaching positions with the City College of Chicago, Bremerhaven West Germany, Walter Reed Army Medical Center; the University of Oklahoma; and Texas Tech University Science Center in El Paso, TX. Dr. Shelton has performed over 17 presentations and published 4 abstracts.

Dr. Shelton is a proven effective advocate and administrator who can effectively communicate and manage in economically and culturally diverse environment, bringing seasoned clinical expertise and in-depth understanding of the complexities and challenges of health care within the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Dr. Shelton served fourteen years as a consultant to the Department of Veterans Affairs to include (Director Organ Transplant Program budget $24 million) and as the Vice President of Medical Affairs Health Management, Inc. in Washington, DC. Dr. Shelton has served as a Secretarial appointee on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Advisory Committee on the Readjustment of Veterans for five years. Dr. Shelton was nominated and has accepted to participate in the Department of Defense (DoD) Congressionally Directed Medical Research Peer/Consumer Review Program. Dr. Shelton was appointed by the Maryland Governor to serve as a member of Maryland Council on Cancer Control. Dr. Shelton is President and CEO of Shelton’s Professional Services.
